and holidays. Well located for the busier attractions of London, Oxford and
Windsor. Henley has over the years attracted a great many visitors to this
charming Oxfordshire town.
Currently Henley
is probably most famous for its international rowing regatta, held every year in
early July. This regatta sees the top international crews, from around the
globe, visit and compete, making the "Henley Regatta" one of the top
annual events.
Henley is pretty much the
capital of South Oxfordshire, and its proximity to London as well as setting has
made it highly desirable with commuters. Property is consequently expensive and
the whole town has a very well to do feel.
The
Bridge over the river was built in 1786 and is a popular landmark, this area of
the town has popular pubs, restaurants and hotels, as well as being a great
viewing point during the regatta.
