| Stoke Staffordshire Stoke-on-Trent, affectionately referred to as The
Potteries, is situated in the heart of England, around
50 miles north of Birmingham. The city consists of six
separate little towns each with their own individual
character and charm, just waiting to be explored by
visitors.
The main reason people come to the area is to see
the ceramics factories that Stoke-on-Trent is famous
for. Familiar names such as Wedgwood, Spode,
Portmeirion, Royal Stafford and Aynsley China all have
factories here. The majority of these businesses are
open to the public, offering tours around the
potteries and factory shops, where you can find
yourself a bargain or two. Further fashion-orientated
bargains can also be had at the Freeport Talke Outlet
Mall.
When it comes to nightlife Hanley, the central area
in Stoke-on-Trent, has plenty of bars and restaurants
to keep you entertained. Whilst the southwest area is
often referred as the cultural quarter, where you’ll
find the Regent Theatre if you fancy taking in a show.
Alternatively, check out Festival Park, a large state
of the art entertainment complex complete with ski
centre and 10-screen cinema.
